The winner is Lauren C! Thanks for entering! Right about now, all I’m thinking about is getting my kids ready for back-to-school. When Zappos reached out to me, I felt immediately more relaxed. As one of the largest online retailers in the world, Zappos can be mom’s go-to destination for back- to-school with the largest selection of apparel, shoes and accessories nationwide.
Zappos buyers work year-round so warehouses are stocked with the widest variety found anywhere, and to suit every taste and climate, while being durable enough to stand up to the “kid test.” As a parent, I appreciate that. I like clothes that are durable.
They had a back-to-school section that I immediately gravitated to. As a parent, we have enough things to do. With Zappos, there’s no rushing to the store to find “required apparel” for back-to-school. You can find many popular items for back-to- school – like polos and khakis (for uniforms), Mary Janes, athletic sneakers or snowboots – are available and in stock. Zappos has the most trusted brands to meet all the growing needs of kids. Convenience and an ample inventory make it easy for moms to shop.

I wanted to get my daughter a backpack, as well as a dress for the first day of school. I also wanted to pick up another back pack for my youngest son. I have to include them on the decisions, because if they don’t like something, I’ll hear grumbling all year long. My little fashionista-in-training picked this Under Armour Back Pack. She went for the back pack because of the bright pink and blue. I chose the back pack because of comfort and health. Under Armour is known for being a very health conscious brand and this back pack is padded nicely for my little miss, who likes to lead an active lifestyle. Plus, Under Armour is a really hot brand right now. While we’ve definitely used hand-me-downs proudly, once in a while, I enjoy buying my kids a really popular brand.
It was the perfect size for my little miss. And we loved the pops of bright pink and blue. Did you know that Zappos supports students’ ‘Bright Futures?’ Bright Futures is relevant to both fashion trends (kids want a pop of bright colors in their wardrobe & sneakers) and it also speaks to education providing a bright future.
And for the first day of school, we picked up a cute dress by Hatley Kids ($42). It’s sleeveless, so she can start school with a tank top in early September and then throw a cute cardigan over it when the weather gets colder. We finished it off with a graphic headband from Under Armour ($14). It’s non-slip and really stayed on well. We’ve spent a lot of money on headbands to keep my daughter’s gorgeous hair out of her face, Under Armour’s non slip band does NOT move.
For my younger son, we got a North Face Back Pack.
He loved the all the zippers and places to stash his stuff. This was definitely a big kid/Kindergarten worthy back pack.
We really use raincoats here in NYC, so I picked up a Western Chief Fire Fighter Raincoat ($39.95) for my little guy (we already owned the matching boots).
My little guy loved it.
Zappos is an advocate for parents, offering a vast selection of “hard-to- find” sizes to provide each child the perfect fit. Hard-to-find shoe widths are no problem. Zappos strives to stock its online shelves with widths that might not be found at a brick and mortar. Offering the best shoe fit insures each child will experience the ultimate in comfort and reliability.
My children don’t wear uniforms, but if they did, Zappos would be one of the first places we’d look. Because of uniform requirements, white sneakers or oxfords can sell out at physical stores.
Zappos understands that back-to-school can be a stressful time for parents to shop and they want to make it as easy as possible (like I’ll complain about that). Zappos.com accepts orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Fashion Trends
Zappos knows comfort and fashion. Zappos’ stylists stay ahead of the trends and provide parents with the must-haves for the school season.
Heritage/Retro – Everything that is old is new again. Zappos has all the cool retro looks from New Balances to Doc Martens.
Comfort/Health – Healthy growth is a priority for Zappos, and they invest in technology and products that help parents provide their kids with clothes and shoes that are stylish, comfortable, and good for their health. For example, brands like Under Armour, Nike, and Saucony.
Mini-Me – Zappos has all the “Mini-me” versions of the most covetable lines.
DIYs– Zappos is encouraging kids to celebrate their individuality through the DIY trends. For kids, it’s all about expressing their creativity through their funky shoelaces, colorful backpacks for tie dyed sneakers. This is totally my daughter – if it doesn’t have some shade of pink in it, she’s not interested.
