If you read my first post, I wrote about our Disney World Reveal and first day at Disney —
For our second day at Disney, I woke up really early to catch the bus to go to Disney Hollywood Studios. My husband, kids and in-laws went to the Disney Boardwalk for a special breakfast. This is my day in this post.
We had an amazing breakfast, sponsored by Alamo. Star Wars show director Michael Roddy spoke to us about what’s coming up at Disney World for Star Wars. Check out my longer video below or a shorter version in my recap video.
We went to check out the Star Wars Launch Bay afterwards.
I decided to meet Kylo Ren. He was a little menacing, but I handled it easily.
The Star Wars Launch Bay was really cool.
We headed back to the Yacht Club and started attending sessions. We learned about Disney Springs – which was formerly Downtown Disney from George A Kalogridris, President of Walt Disney World Resort. He told us about the new Shop Disney Parks App – you can search for things yourself that you want to buy. Example: if you want something in Epcot, you can buy it from the app and get it delivered to your room or home. It also works at home.
Then we learned about Disney Springs. Disney Springs is like a Florida waterfront town from the turn of the century. They basically made up a fictional town and did a timeline of events. Walt Disney’s parents were married nearby and moved to Disney Springs.
Mickey’s Friendship Fair:
Next month, Cinderella Castle is the backdrop for Mickey’s Friendship Fair.
We also learned about Princess Elena – which sounded awesome.
At Epcot, Dory is joining Turtle Talk with Crush.
At Epcot, they are putting finishing touches on Frozen Ever After Boat Ride, in Norway. The Disney Parks Blog has more info on it — https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/attractions/epcot/frozen-ever-after/.
Also the location for the Royal Sommerhus will be the Norway Pavilion in Epcot, you pose for pics and share a warm embrace with the royal sisters from Frozen before heading on to other amazing adventures!
We also learned about Rivers of Light, coming to Animal Kingdom in February of 2017.
Avatar: Light of Passage is coming to Animal Kingdom – Inside the Magic has a post about it.
Nancy Kanter, EVP, Original Programming / General Manager, Disney Junior spoke to us next. While I can’t share everything she told us, some exciting things are coming, including the new “Elena of Avalor,” featuring a teenaged Latina princess.
She is freed from her amulet and goes to reclaim her kingdom from an evil sorcerer. It’s inspired by diverse latin cultures. It’s launching on Disney Channel, and rebroadcast on Disney Junior.
Lindsey Collins, Producer of Finding Dory, spoke to us next and we got to see 33 minutes of the movie (which I am NOT allowed to share about).
For the rest of the recap of my day, check out my video (with lots of fun things, including performances and more). We were wowed. We were treated wonderfully – huge thank you to the conference staff who worked really hard to make everything special to us. I was very proud to be here.
After the conference ended, I went back to relax for a little while. I couldn’t resist a little dip into the hot tub. I found a smaller pool behind the Yacht Club with a hot tub and relaxed. I was still feeling pretty crappy, so this was amazing.
My family met me back at the hotel room and we got ready for Donald’s Beach Party. We boarded the bus to Typhoon Lagoon with our stroller (the rented one came early that morning) for an evening of fun.
After an amazing dinner, sponsored by GoGoSqueez, we danced and hung out. Unfortunately my 5 year old would not leave the sand alone.
He was covered by the time we left. Most of the little kids were!
Great second day at Disney World for #DisneySMMC!
When we got back to our room, we had some special surprises from Alamo and the DisneySMMC staff. And you know that Mickey is magical when your big tough almost 11 year old son grabs a Mickey to cuddle with for bedtime.
Great second day at Disney World for #DisneySMMC!

That sounds like an amazing day! Loved seeing all the Star Wars attractions since we skipped most of those on our recent trip. And the Yacht Club looks like a great hotel.
