I was lucky enough to attend a fan event in NYC recently, with most of the Downton Abbey cast, sponsored by PBS. I have mixed feelings about Downton Abbey’s sixth and final season starting in a few days. I’m happy that the show will be on soon, but sad that it’s the final season. Cast members in attendance were: Elizabeth McGovern (Lady Grantham), Hugh Bonneville (Lord Grantham), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), Allen Leech (Branson), Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes), Jim Carter (Carson), Kevin Doyle (Moseley) and Julian Fellowes (creator and writer) and Gareth Neame (producer).
There was a huge line to get in. 
My Mother in law and I enjoyed the photo booth and then had some champagne.
I posed with the Crawley family.
We met a young lady who was dressed as Edith (her friend made the dress).
But the highlight was that I got to take a pic with Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary). Sadly, this was right before Michelle’s fiance passed away from cancer. Our hearts go out to her.

It was great to hear the cast talk about their characters (no spoilers were given away). Michelle Dockery said her favorite of Lady Mary’s love interests was Parmuk (the Turk– remember what happened to him??)
As a fan of the show, all I can say is, WOW! What an awesome event & opportunity! Looks like you had a great time, too.
