The new season of Survivor just kicked off on CBS — are you excited? As the show goes into it’s 32nd season, I was so excited to be able to recently take my 10 year old son to meet Jeff Probst, Host and Executive Producer, as well as former cast members Parvati Shallow and Stephen Fishbach. This season takes place on the the island Kaôh Rōng in Cambodia, will be themed “Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty.”
CBS hosted the event at the 1010 Wins studios downtown and CBS Radio Host Brigitte Quinn moderated. It was amazing to screen almost the whole first episode (they left us hanging to see who was going home) and hear from Jeff, Parvati, and Stephen. Jeff Probst charmed the whole room and it was incredible to hear him talk about his favorite season (it was the season before this one — SURVIVOR: Second Chances) and the fact that this season was actually shot before that one. Watch the recording of the livestream below for more revelations! Note: It’s spoiler free!
Here’s the whole livestream. Give it a few minutes to load, it may be running a little slow.
The spring edition of SURVIVOR, filmed on the island Kaôh Rōng in Cambodia, will be themed “Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty.” The location offers harsh conditions and relentless weather for the castaways, presenting one of the most physically grueling seasons in the show’s history. I was actually shocked when we saw the episode — I don’t think I would have lasted more than a day.
What’s interesting is that the three tribes — with 6 cast members on a team, “possess similar characteristics that make their group unique – high IQ, muscular physique and physical looks – and test whether there is any truth to the pre-conceived notion that certain characteristics will help you win the game of SURVIVOR. All castaways will compete to outwit, outplay, outlast and ultimately be crowned Sole Survivor.”
Included on this season’s cast is an Army veteran, an emergency room doctor, a bounty hunter, a former FBI agent, a pro poker player, a superfan, a quantitative strategist and a former NBA champion.
The battle unfolds when these three tribes compete on SURVIVOR. Go here to meet the castaways.
