I switched to almondmilk two years ago as my main “milk” and my go-to-brand has always been Almond Breeze. So I was thrilled when I was asked to test out Almond Breeze Hint of Honey Vanilla. Recently when I was in Austin, Texas with PBS Kids, we visited Whole Foods Market and they taught us how to make fruit pops with chia seeds. I decided to see if I could come up with my own version of that recipe — using my go-to Almond Breeze. I knew I would need my trusty Vitamix for this.
I decided to use frozen strawberries and peaches, black chia seeds (for a protein punch), and Almond Breeze Almondmilk Hint of Honey Vanilla.
I haven’t made pops in a long time. My goal was to make something that was healthy for my children that I could enjoy too. And who doesn’t love pops? My kids didn’t need to know they were healthy!
I added two cups of frozen fruit (you can use any kind), one cup of Almond Breeze Almondmilk Hint of Honey Vanilla, one teaspoon of honey (or you can add stevia or agave), and 1/4 of black chia seeds (for a blast of protein). Blend everything BUT the chia seeds together, then stir in chia seeds, and pour into popsicle molds.
If you don’t have a heavy duty blender like I do (I have a Vitamix), let your frozen fruit defrost a little and add it in smaller batches.
