Spring got off to a rocky start with the snow in NYC and then I got some bad news yesterday morning that an old friend passed away from cancer. She had fought bravely for over 9 years and leaves behind 3 children. While I had been frantically wishing and hoping that a certain pixie dusted invite would come my way, this put everything into perspective.
Meet Miss. V, my friend Jen’s new baby girl. I’ve known Jen since we were tweens at Surprise Lake Camp. And her precious baby girl made me even more aware of how grateful I should be for my health and my family’s health. And For my blog readers (you!). And for life.
While my heart goes out the my old friend’s family, Little Miss V. helped me smile yesterday. Sprinkling her own kind of Pixie Dust on me.
If you’re wondering what Pixie Dust means, it represents the wonderful invitation to the Disney Social Media Moms Conference. I am hoping that an invite comes my way next time. And I can say that without being upset, because if it’s meant to happen it will. I will, of course, follow along on Social Media. And I will cheer my friends on and listen to the wise advice that comes out of it. But in the meantime, I willI keep appreciating what I do have.
