As a mom with three kids, I like store loyalty cards that give me savings. Walgreens just introduced a new loyalty card program called Balanced Rewards. I went to check it out recently at a location in Manhattan. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those moms who is organized to make a list, so I try (and usually fail to keep a list in my head).
As soon as I walked into Walgreens, I saw a large banner with all the info about the Loyalty Program, Balance Rewards. Everything was explained and I was able to join right in the store via the app. I scanned the QR code right on that banner, downloaded the app and registered. It was super simple. I could have also scanned the QR code in the circular in the store or spoke to an employee to sign up.
Cool Fact: The Balance Rewards program will give you 10 points for every $1 spent on certain over the counter items. Which can really add up! Look for the Balance Rewards symbol next to the item in the circular or attached to the shelf display to find out which items qualify for Balance Rewards.
Other benefits include:
Get 500 points for every prescription
and immunization*2
Earn points on thousands of items each week
Get 10 points for every mile when you Walk with Walgreens*3
Redeem instantly with as few as 5,000 points
I was impressed with the beauty section and the fact that there was a produce selection, plus a selection of healthy prepared foods (good lunch options), that were reasonably priced (and looked super yummy).
To sign up, download the app, sign up online, or go into your local Walgreens.

Wow! That prepared food looks awesome, we don’t have a section like that in our stores in the Midwest.

Wow, I’m impressed by the prepared food section. It never occurs to me to look for prepared food at Walgreens, but now I might.
