My family woke up this past weekend craving fresh toast. We had fresh challah, leftover spiced apples from Boston Market, caramel sauce from Stonewall Kitchen, and Blue Diamond Salted Caramel Almonds in the house, so we decided to get our inner chef on.
We took Challah and sliced it into smaller pieces.
We dipped it in a mixture of eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. You can easily make this dairy free by using Almond Breeze Almondmilk (my fave is the vanilla unsweetened).
Next, we added a teaspoon of buttery spread in a pan and heat. Then we added the soaked pieces of challah and browned them on both sides.
My husband chopped up the Blue Diamond Salted Caramel Almonds. He sliced them with a small pairing knife. If you are making this for a crowd, you can throw it in a food processor to chop the almonds up quicker.
The salted caramel almonds smelled delicious.
Plate the french toast, top with spiced apples, swirl on caramel sauce (if it’s warmed up a little, it will go on easier), and sprinkled Blue Diamond Salted Caramel Almonds on top.
Note: If you are gluten free, use gluten-free challah or gluten-free bread (I made mine with Udi’s multi-grain bread).
