Why is it that whenever we go on vacation our perfectly-behaved somewhat well-behaved toddlers always seem to find ways to get themselves in trouble? When we stay in hotel rooms, they always open drawers they shouldn’t, play with the window blinds, spill Cheerios all over the furniture, and generally create chaos not unlike any random page from Dr. Seuss’ The Cat In The Hat? So far we’ve been lucky and nothing major has happened but when Thing 1 and Thing 2 are running wild, I find myself looking around the room hoping they don’t bump their heads on the edge of the nightstand or stick something in the wall outlet. Luckily the folks at Travel Tot have been thinking the same thing, because they came up with a travel childproofing kit that has everything you need to childproof wherever you’re staying when you go away, whether it’s a hotel room, a log cabin, or even a friend’s house. The kit includes 33 items, all of which are easy to apply and remove and will not damage the furniture. The items included are: finger pinch guard, electrical outlet plug covers, foam corner guards, door knob cover, cord wind-up, sliding door lock, cabinet lock, multi-purpose straps, water thermometer, bandages, forehead thermometer, and “Shhh, Travel-Tot sleeping” door hanger. Of the items, my favorites were the forehead thermometer – I never remember to bring one; the cabinet lock, which is perfect for hotel rooms with a kitchenette; and the foam corner guards for the edges of beds, coffee tables and nightstands.
You can purchase the Travel Tot here for $34.95.

I was not paid for this post. I did receive a Travel Tot kit for review purposes.

Married to a vegetarian and being a pescetarian herself, this can be quite a challenge. On an ordinary night at her dinner table, you can hear things like “More cauliflower, please!”, “How come I didn’t get a lot of tomato?” and “Fish oil! Yaaaay!”
