If you have a toddler at home chances are you’re heard of Laurie Berkner. The super-talented kindie rock musician is a favorite in our household and now that she has been performing for kids for 20 years she has a picture book out called We Are The Dinosaurs, based on her mega-hit by the same name.
We Are The Dinosaurs is an adorable picture book (out March 21) that includes the lyrics of the popular song. It also has cute drawings by Ben Clanton with some additional dialogue that’s fun to read. My kids, especially my four-year-old, love the song and know all the words. The book is geared towards toddlers so my youngest really loves having me read it to him and also flipping through the pages on his own.
Want to see hear a live version of We Are The Dinosaurs? Laurie is having a solo tour and will be in Peekskill this April! The concert will feature this song, as well as other of Laurie’s greatest hits, such as Victor Vito, Pig on Her Head (bring a stuffed animal) and Moon Moon Moon. The concert will also be the first time Laurie will perform live form her new album, Superhero, which features brand-new original songs. If you’re never been to a Laurie Berkner concert you’re in for a treat – Laurie’s energy is contagious and kids are on their feet dancing, with many singing along.
