Recently we got a sneak peak of the LEGO Ninjago movie. While I don’t want to give any spoilers, I’m here to give you my thoughts.
Synopsis:
The battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad.
Thoughts:
If you are familiar with LEGO’s Ninjago TV series or even if your kids are, you’re going to enjoy this. With the same tongue in cheek humor that we saw in the LEGO movie and LEGO Batman, you’ll laugh and enjoy the action. My kids watch the TV series faithfully, but this movie seemed to have what the series doesn’t — humor. It’s funny. Really funny. I often chide my kids to only watch an episode of the LEGO Ninjago series one at a time because it’s a dark series – but this isn’t a dark movie, even with the seriousness they have.
This movie is funny and while it has the LEGO Ninjago story, it also offers humor. Our party enjoyed it. – which was my 3 kids (ages 7, 9, and almost 12) and a 12-year-old friend of my sons. I enjoyed it also. Plus Will Arnett stars as Lord Garmadon and as usual, is very funny.
Cast includes stars the voices of Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods and Jackie Chan.
Scary Parts:
Yes, there were a couple of scary parts, but nothing that I felt was harmful.
Verdict:
Go see it — it’s out in theatres now. We actually liked it so much that we are going to see it AGAIN this weekend!
Did you see it yet? What did you think?
