As a pescatarian I rely on fish and seafood as my primary source of protein and try to eat them as often as I can. I especially love shrimp; not only are they delicious and incredibly easy to make, but shrimp are also a good source of vitamin D and B12, as well as cancer-fighting Selenium. I recently visited my local Red Lobster restaurant to sample their Endless Shrimp promo, which is available until November 2nd, 2014. I had never been to Red Lobster before (mostly because I’m married to a vegetarian) but since my mom was in town we decided to check it out and see if their shrimp were worth a visit.
The way that the Endless Shrimp works is simple: you get a choice of 6 dishes and pick two at a time. After you get them you can order two more. You can continue to do so and order as much as you want, as long as you order only two dishes at a time. The Endless Shrimp comes with an order of salad and side. The salad options are Garden or Cesar salad. When I ordered I didn’t want a salad so our server offered me a side order and I picked steamed broccoli (which I loved). Aside from a salad you also get a starchy side dish such as mashed potatoes, baked potato or fries.
Here’s what my mom and I ordered:
The salad was fresh and came with Cheddar Bay Biscuits®. Both the salad and biscuits were a great start to the meal. The starchy sides were very good. I had fries, which were really crispy and delicious and my meal came with a side of rice as well. My mom had the mashed potatoes, which were very flavorful.
Sriracha Grilled Shrimp – If you’re a fan of Sriracha sauce you’ll love this dish. The wood-grilled shrimp is super-spicy and the taste really lingers in your mouth, which I liked.
Parmesan Shrimp Scampi – Although my mom loved it this was the least favorite for me, mostly because I didn’t like the parmesan cheese in it. I did love the generous shrimp portions, especially since it’s an all-you-can-eat style.
Here’s the Sriracha and Parmesan Scampi:
Shrimp Linguini Alfredo – this was absolutely delicious – rich and creamy but not greasy in any way. Pure perfection.
Garlic Shrimp Scampi – This was very nicely done and pretty light, I could eat tons and tons of this dish. The garlic-butter sauce was not oily or too buttery, just delicious.
Here’s the Linguini and Garlic Scampi:
There are two other shrimp dishes that are included in the Endless Shrimp: Hand-Breaded Shrimp and Coconut Shrimp Bites but unfortunately we were too full so we didn’t end up trying them.
The Endless Shrimp promotion ends on November 2nd, 2014 so be sure to stop by your local Red Lobster to try it out. Price is $17.99 per person. Click here to find a Red Lobster restaurant near you.
I was not compensated for this post. I received a complimentary meal for two.
