Summer has just started but I have already been spending way too many hours outdoors since I have young children who need to get out of the house often. I have found myself unable to escape the sun’s harsh rays, whether it’s at playgrounds, parks, the pool or street fairs. I do use sunscreen but unless I stay home all day there will be at least some damage, even if it’s minimal. I recently discovered Coola Suncare – a brand that’s dedicated to sun protection and has a line of organic products that offer sun protection for the face and body, as well as a line of environmental repair products. I got the chance to test one of them on my skin, which is likely to be already damaged and even more as we get into the hotter days of summer. Here’s what I thought: (Read more after the jump)
Coola Suncare has a serum that’s perfect for cooling and nourishing sun-damaged skin, called Environmental Repair Plus Fresh Relief Face Serum. I recently got to try it on after a long day outdoors. After rinsing off my sunblock and cleaning my face with facewash, I applied the the serum and noticed it made my skin feel soft and look dewy. It absorbed immediately and smelled yummy – a little like lavender. Since it’s a serum it’s lightweight but it’s jam-packed with nutrients that have various skin-healing properties. Radish root works on repairing irritated skin while Licorice Root reduces redness and acts as anti-inflammatory. The serum also includes edible greens such as Wakame – a Japanese Seaweed that fights free radicals and alfalfa extract, which renews skin by promoting collagen production, fights wrinkles and improves elasticity. Other ingredients are plant extracts, such as geranium, lavender and aloe, most of which are organic. The products are all cruelty-free and eco-friendly – they are manufactured in a solar-powered facility.
You can purchase the Environmental Repair Plus Fresh Relief Face Serum here. Price is $68. The bottle is one ounce so it’s perfect for travel and you only need a very small amount, so it lasts a long time. Visit Coola Suncare for more products that protect the skin from the sun and nourish it by using organic products, such as fruit, vegetable and plant extracts.Photos courtesy of Coola Suncare.
