For most of us living in the Western world, New Zealand is an exotic, faraway place we can only dream about. That doesn’t mean, however, that we can’t enjoy the healthful products derived from this pristine land. Pacific Resources International (PRI) imports to the U.S products made in New Zealand that have an added benefit of healthful properties unique to this enchanting country.
Manuka honey is produced from the nectar of the Manuka tree, native to New Zealand and may have healing properties. PRI offers a variety of this rich-tasting raw honey in various sizes and even has a honey product specifically designed to be used as a wound and burn dressing. (Note: honey should never be given to infants under one).
When you have a sore throat or a bad cough honey is a natural remedy. PRI has a selection of honey lemon lozenges with propolis that can calm down the inflammation in your throat and support your immune system during the cold winter months.
Lots of people enjoy honey by the teaspoon but what about adding chocolate to it? PRI has some incredible offerings! The Dark Chocolate Manuka Honey Mints contain only three ingredients: pure Manuka honey, dark chocolate (99% cocoa) and peppermint oil. It taste like heaven – hard to believe it’s actually good for you! The delicious Manuka Honey Dark Chocolate with Ginger is the same thing, but with a very mild flavor of ginger. Mostly you taste the rich taste of dark chocolate and the creamy honey filling.
Salt is, by no means, considered a health food. It’s associated with high blood pressure and other conditions. The main problem with table salt is that it’s refined so there’s very little naturally-occurring trace minerals and electrolytes, such as calcium and magnesium. PRI’s Pacific Sea Salt is obtained through a natural process of solar and wind evaporation of sea water, which retains those minerals. It’s harvested in the pristine waters surrounding New Zealand and tastes delicious as a table salt or in cooking!
