In an alternate universe, I would love to be one of those moms that makes home-cooked meals from scratch every single day. In my reality, it ain’t happening. I take shortcuts often and use pre-packaged foods but I refuse to compromise on healthy food and will not feed my kids junk – they get plenty of that when we’re out. I recently discovered Kidfresh – frozen meals made especially for kids. My kids enjoyed a movie night watching Ice Age: Collision Course and eating delicious and Kidfresh meals.
Kidfresh meals include wholesome ingredients – no preservatives or artificial ingredients. They do not have trans fats and only moderate amounts of sodium, fats and saturated fats. Best of all, they all contain hidden veggies. For example, the Wagon Wheels Mac & Cheese has mashed-up carrots blended with the cheese sauce. Of course, this isn’t supposed to be instead of fresh veggies, which is why they started the meal with a small salad. But it’s certainly a nice bonus. My kids had a blast watching the movie and eating their dinner. I felt good about giving them a balanced meal that’s made of natural ingredients.
My kids had chicken nuggets, tater tots, quesadillas and mac ‘n cheese. They loved everything but the nuggets and mac ‘n cheese were the favorites. I personally loved the quesadillas the best and my husband liked the tater tots. He made himself an extra plate!
There are 16 different Kidfresh meals.
