Do you have relaxed or overscheduled summers? I’m the first to admit that I’m more relaxed in the summer. I like a slower pace with my husbands and kids. We don’t overschedule – just 6 weeks of day camp and fun on the weekends and after camp.
We travel locally and take small and big road trips. We visit my in-laws and my parents. We love where we live and our life. 
Last weekend we headed out to Brookhaven Labs for their Summer Sundays, which is run by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. The drive took an hour and was relaxing. We didn’t have to rush to get somewhere for once. The drive was part of the fun. 
While there were so many activities going on at Brookhaven Labs, we decided to keep it simple.
We went to a fun magic show about chemistry and checked out Brookhaven Labs’ Fire Department (they have their own, dedicated fireman).
