Lands’ End #DearMom: Show Mom How Much You Care This Mother’s Day (+ Sweepstakes)

Being a mom means everything to me. It really is the highlight of my life and even though things aren’t easy most of the time – I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. When Lands’ End asked me to recently be in their #DearMom campaign, I was so honored because Lands’ End is a brand I’ve worn myself for a while and love. Their clothes fit me well and empower me (the Starfish Pants and the Fit and Flare dress are my faves). 

As a mom of three, we have our highs and lows in this family. There are good days and bad days. Life isn’t perfect for us, but is it perfect for any parent? I am grateful to my own mom, who didn’t have it easy either. She worked full time as a teacher in the NYC schools (and a long commute)  and still had time for my younger brother and me. She taught me to be strong and make sure I always had a backup plan — she encouraged me to go for my dreams of working in TV (I lasted 5 years) and make sure I had a good degree to fall back on (I have masters in Elementary Education). Her advice is wise and while she’s the first person to tell you that she’s not perfect, she is a source of love and support to me. I do not know what I would do without her.

As for Mother’s Days gifts — the one thing I always ask for on every Mother’s Day is to sleep in. I definitely don’t get enough of it and my kids get up super early in the morning (and they are LOUD). On Mother’s Day, I get to rest and sleep in as late as I want. Sounds like a simple request, right? But it’s not – my husband and kids really work to be quiet for me, as we live in an apartment and things can get loud. While I usually get a present (and a delicious breakfast made for me by my husband), the sleeping in is my favorite gift. 

Here is the #DearMom compilation video that we filmed recently. It was so surreal to be the one that was interviewed for once. I laughed, I cried, I bared my soul. I spoke about my kids and the advice my mom has given me.
