I’ve posted about Korean BBQ (Barbecue) before — my former neighbor Helen had taught me to make it ten years ago. While I don’t always use my former neighbor’s recipe for the Korean BBQ sauce (https://www.themamamaven.com/love-korean-bbq-korean-bbq-short-ribs-recipe-kalbi/), it remains something that I love to make for my family. I recently got the Instant Pot (hello Amazon Prime Day Deal) and I wanted to try it in the Instant Pot. Enjoy this Instant Pot Korean BBQ (Kalbi) recipe.
I found a recipe for making it in the Instant Pot from Dr. Karen Lee and adapted it to make it work for me.
Korean Barbecue in the Instant Pot:
Ingredients:Instant Pot Recipe: Korean BBQ (Kalbi)
Beef Short Ribs (at least 2 lbs)
Korean BBQ Sauce (You can make it with this my recipe or buy it)
Cut up or baby carrotsRice to serve it over
Instructions:
Cut the short short ribs into bite sized pieces
Place the short ribs and Korean BBQ Sauce into the Instant Pot
Turn and lock the top of the Instant Pot.
Make sure the pressure release valve is closed.
Choose the Beef/Stew Setting and add time so it’s 40 minutes
After the timer is up, open the vent and let is release until the steam stops
Open the lid and add the carrots
Use the manual setting to cook the short ribs for 15 minutes
After the timer is up, open the vent and let is release until the steam stops.
Serve over white or brown basmati rice (which you can make in the Instant Pot also — recipe coming) or you can add bean paste and wrap it lettuce leaves.

How much BBQ Sauce do you use for the 2 lbs of beef?
The Mama Maven says
Hi Eddie, I used one bottle of Target’s Market Pantry Korean BBQ sauce or you can make it from this recipe: http://www.themamamaven.com/2014/12/26/love-korean-bbq-korean-bbq-short-ribs-recipe-kalbi/

Would be great if you could look on the jar and tell us how many ounces. I have a different brand sauce and I’ve not bought the target bottle.
Susanne Watson says
Even target.com doesn’t have that information without some math.
The Mama Maven says
Understand.! Base it on any 8 oz bottle of sauce. Let me know how it turns out!
The Mama Maven says
Hi Susanne, it looks like it was 8 ounces. I usually always just buy two to have an extra should I need more sauce. https://www.target.com/p/korean-bbq-stir-fry-sauce-8oz-archer-farms-153/-/A-17308968#lnk=sametab

FYI, I am unable to print your recipe. It flashes to the print screen and then back to the Mama Maven.
