Dear B,
You turned 9 today and we are so proud of you. I’ll totally admit I get a little weepy whenever one of my three babies celebrates a birthday. But turning 9 is huge. You’ve made such strides this past year, from your behavior at home getting better to how you act in school. When you want to be, you are an incredible example to your sister and brother.
It’s not all sunshine and roses though. Daddy and I want you to be less competitive with your sister and brother . And you can’t be the center of attention all of the time. Instead of yelling your opinion, listen to what other people are saying. Don’t be “The Pigeon” (Mo Willems reference) and listen when we tell you NOT do something.
This year, don’t be afraid of math. You’ve got this! Just to be safe, you’ll start tutoring to make sure you stay ahead of the game. You inherited my love of reading and dislike of math, however, I actually found out that I am good at it and I know you can be too.
I know that me going back to work has been a little hard on you, but you’ve handled it well. I like working and you should have a mom that’s happy. Plus we need to keep you in Angry Birds’ apps.
Continue to respect your babysitters and listen to them. Continue to respect your dad and I (and listen to us).
Here’s to many, many, many more years together. I love you Mr. B!
Love,
Mom
