My daughter Allegra turns 6 today. Yes, on New Years Eve (she was a breech baby, so we had a C-Section 9 days before her due date). So I am sending her some thoughts and wishes for a great new year.. for her.
Dear Allegra,
Your dad and I are so proud of you. You are a wonderful little sister to Ben and a great big sister to Skylar. You are full of sunshine and happiness. You are selfless and giving, even at your own birthday party when you gave your seat up during musical chairs to your friend “S” so you would be out and she wouldn’t be.
We made the right decision with your schooling this year, you are happy and doing well. No more getting so frustrated with writing letters (yeah!) and you actually are enjoying math (double yeah). We can’t wait until you really start reading. While we are still upset that the jiuitsu place you and your big brother went to closed down so suddenly, we wish you luck in starting yoga next week at school. We want you to find activities and a sport you adore.
This year you started enjoying “My Little Pony” and it’s great that your brothers enjoy watching it with you. You are getting your own opinions and likes/dislikes (though it’s really funny that you dislike beans and like chicken, when your big brother (who you adore) is the exact opposite). I think you two team up to make me crazy sometimes.
Your dad and I enjoyed seeing how happy you were to get all the ponies you adore from “My Little Pony” during Chanukkah.
We wish you an epic year and looking forward to seeing how you’ll blossom even more. You were the best thing we ever did on New Year’s Eve!
Love,
Mom and Dad
