Going on a sail around New York City should be a fun summer activity where you can enjoy the breeze with a cold drink in your hand as you look at the unbelievable Manhattan skyline. But if you take kids along, things somehow end up stressful because you have to keep them busy. What to do? Circle Lines Sightseeing Cruises, the iconic NYC company is holding a series of kid-friendly sails filled with activities geared for kids of all ages. This past weekend my family and I boarded one of these sails and all five of us had an incredible time!
Boarding the boat:
Radio Disney got the crowd going with dancing and “Super-Hero Training Camp”, which included giveaways. (Note: each sail has different activities, scroll below to see the schedule)
My daughter had a blast dancing to all of her favorite songs. It was a really fun, upbeat atmosphere.
Once Spiderman showed up even my super-shy son got up to see him!
Spiderman was really friendly and patient with all of the kids and gave autographs during the “meet and greet”.
There was a roving magician who did some cute, kid-friendly tricks:
Face and hand painting was a big hit:
There was a snack bar with kid-friendly food like hot dogs and nachos, plus a souvenirs shop:Between all the activities we had plenty of downtime to relax and enjoy the stunning view. It never gets old.
And, of course, the highlight of the trip: The Statue of Liberty. We got up pretty close and circled around it.
When it was time to leave there was one last surprise: each kid took home balloons. The cruise was a fun and memorable experience for us – and a great start to summer!
