My husband and I have been together for almost 15 years now and we have a sacred trust. One of the things that belong in that sacred trust is no cheating when we are watching our favorite shows as a couple on Netflix. My husband and I stream a lot of Netflix shows and we love picking a series to screen together. But cheating is strictly forbidden. I’ll admit it’s hard, since my husband will not let me binge watch — he will only let us watch two shows. Whether you’re sneaking in another episode after bedtime or watching ahead of your partner and pretending to act surprised later, Netflix cheating is a crime that anyone in the family can commit.
One of the first things I said to him after I got back my recent trip to Florida was, “You didn’t watch the last episode of “The Crown” without me, did you? My husband assured me he didn’t watch it and we were able to watch it together.
But I’ll admit, I did cheat one time. But in my defense, it was the second season of Orange is the New Black and I just had to see the first episode… and my husband was at the gym. He hadn’t even watched season one, but expressed interest in starting on season two. I pretended that I hadn’t seen it when we watched it later that night. But eventually I confessed all and he forgave me — what a saint! I’m lucky that he didn’t get angry at me! I am not sure I would have been as forgiving!
So, if you do skip ahead and watch a show without your partner, come clean. Apologize. Maybe they’ll start to trust you again. One way to make them forgive you — find out when the next bingeworthy show is and promise to only watch it with them.
Netflix says that, “While no show is off limits, top cheating temptations are The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, American Horror Story, House of Cards, Orange Is The New Black, Narcos, and Stranger Things.”
But if you really, really have to cheat. Netflix has some great tips on how to get away with it.
What do you think? Have you ever cheated by watching another episode when you know you should have waited for your partner?

I’m single, so luckily I don’t have to wait for anyone to watch my shows. 🙂
