I just got back from Disney Social Media Moms Celebration – which was at Disney World for 2 nights and on the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship for 3 nights. It was incredible. One thing that really blew me away was the special preview we got of the new Rivers of Light Nighttime Show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Last May, we heard about this show (check out the images in my recap from Disney Social Media Moms Celebration – http://www.themamamaven.com/2016/06/04/we-dreamed-big-at-disney-day-2/).
When you come in for the show, you sit in a beautiful amphitheater, right on the Discovery River. According to Disney, “Continuing the grand Disney tradition of innovative, after-dark entertainment, “Rivers of Light” combines live performance, floating set pieces, a soaring musical score, fountains and more in a celebration of animals and nature. The story magically unfolds on the broad natural stage of the Discovery River, conveying the uplifting spirit of an ancient and timeless lantern ceremony and filled with symbolism, storytelling and plenty of heart. The show celebrates the magic of nature coming to life and starts with an ancient lantern festival that draws out four Animal Spirit Guides – an Elephant, Owl, Tiger and Turtle. These animals take shape as larger-than-life lantern floats, some of which measure 15-feet-tall and 30-feet-long, and were designed to look as if they were created centuries ago.”
Check out my video — I did cover the music so I didn’t run into music copyright issues.
Preview: Disney’s Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom
The show officially opens to the public on February 17 and it’s a must see.
The Disney Parks Blog also recommends to “make dining or FastPass+ reservations for this new show, visit MyDisneyExperience.com or the My Disney Experience app. And don’t forget that the next step in the expansion of Disney’s Animal Kingdom – the grand debut of Pandora – The World of Avatar – will take place on May 27, 2017.”

I was invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Conference (Land and Sea) and paid my conference ticket, and additional tickets for my family members, plus flights and travel to and from the airport. I received perks and discounts and had the time of my life. All opinions are mine and mine alone.
