As parents we want to show our kids the world and allow them to have as many new experiences as possible. This is also true for food: having your kids try different flavors can help them develop a palate for more than just pizza and french fries. BerryCart is a subscription box service for healthy and delicious snacks but it also has an added value: you get cash back for buying some of the items in stores!
Here’s how it works: You sign up for a 1 or 3 month subscription and receive a box of goodies. After trying the snacks you can pick the ones that you like (any or all) and once you download the app you go to your local store and purchase those items. After taking a picture of the receipt you get Cashback rebate, either to your Paypal account or as a gift card.
I received a box for review and tried with my family nine different products (4 full-size). The package came with a beautiful re-usable wrapping paper as well as a list of the items, descriptions, and amount of Cashback rebate I can get if I purchase each item at the store. There’s also a bonus item that’s not in the actual box, but is available for Cashback rebate: for me it was 30 cents rebate on bananas. This had the least amount of cash back; everything else was 50 cents, $1.00 or more!
Here are the items that were in the box:
Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips – Nacho flavor:
I’m a big fan of Doritos and everything nacho-flavor so I absolutely loved this snacks. The flavor was great and while the chips weren’t as crispy (they’re made with rice and beans) they were lightyears healthier than the original. I loved the 4 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein – wow!
I Heart Keenwah Quinoa Clusters:
Really crunchy and full of flavor, these snacks are low in sugar and sodium and perfect as a trail mix substitute. I loved the sweet/salty taste and my kids liked them so much hey asked to save the rest for their school snacks.
Simple Squares – Coconut Flavor:
As its name suggests, this is a simple bar with only five ingredients and has a nice amount of protein. Stash in your purse for a quick and convenient afternoon snack.
World Peas – Ranch Flavor:
I love peas in any form and these dried peas really hit the spot with the sweet/salty flavor. They’re surprisingly filling and are great as a snack or in a salad.
Laughing Giraffe Organics Vanilla Snackaroons:
These scrumptious little coconut snacks are very rich, very sweet and very…coconutty. I happen to love coconut so these were definitely one of the favorites!
Ips – Egg White Chips – White Cheddar:
These chips have less carbs and fat than regular chips, plus added protein in the form of whey and cheese. They’re crunchy, delicious and perfect for movie night.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts:
Hempseeds are a new snack for me and I find them absolutely essential on a daily basis: they’re loaded with plant-based omega 3’s, protein, vitamins, minerals and fiber. You can sprinkle on salad or yogurt – but I like to eat them with a spoon straight out of the bag.
Pyure Organic Stevia Packets:
These individual packs of stevia are perfect to stash in your purse so you can add them to coffee or unsweetened tea when you’re out. At home they’re great with plain yogurt and fruit, as a healthy alternative to sugary yogurt.
Kutoa Snack Bar – Chocolate-Banana:
My kids went crazy for this! It does have a lot of sugar, but most of it is natural and comes from date paste, agave syrup, and bananas. I love this because you give give this to your kids and call it “dessert” and they won’t ask questions.
