Ever hear that quote “If you know, then you know?” That would definitely apply to air fryer roasted chick peas! They are so delicious — you get the crunch and the flavor. Plus, you add very little oil when you make them in your air fryer! While you can definitely make these in your oven, I found that air frying them just took it to the next level. Enjoy these Air Fryer Za’atar Spiced Chick Peas. Serve them a satisfying crunch of protein on a salad or as a savory snack.
I start with canned chick pea (garbanzo beans) (if possible, go for organic and with less sodium). You open the can and rinse your chick peas. You can take the little coating off if you want, I found it didn’t really affect my chick peas. Then I placed my rinsed chick peas in a bowl and added some extra virgin olive oil. I stirred the oil onto the chick peas so they were coated and then I added my favorite Za’atar spice blend.
If you don’t want to use regular extra virgin olive oil I love using non-propellant oil spray (Pompeian is one brand I use) to coat my chicken and give it some zing. Now add some Za’atar and you’re really going to make this extra delicious!
Ingredients
1 can of canned chick peas (look for organic and low sodium)

Extra Virgin Olive Oil to taste Oil spray — I like Pompeian’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil Spray
Instructions:
Open the can and rinse your chickpeas well. You can take the little coating off if you want, I found it didn’t really affect my chick peas or the crunch.
Then I placed my rinsed chick peas in a bowl and added some extra virgin olive oil.
I stirred the oil onto the chick peas so they were coated and then I added my favorite Za’atar spice blend. You could really do any spice mix (sweet or savory), but since I just adore za’atar seasoning…of course I reached for that.
Air fry for around 17- 20 minutes at 400 degrees, shaking them a few times.
Let them cool and serve!
If you use a basket air fryer, it may take less time. I used the Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360 Oven and I absolutely love it. It can be used to air fry, toast, broil, slow cook and more. I seriously use it everyday. It’s super easy to clean, which is a huge plus in my book.
