Recently, we went down at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania, hosted by Momtrends and GM for Chevy Appreciation Day. We left New York City Friday morning with our two older kids in tow (the baby stayed with my mother).
The Cadilac SRX Test Drive
We were lent the Cadillac SRX to take down to Hershey Park. I’d never driven a Cadillac before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This crossover vehicle was great and we liked how it handled like a smaller car. Since we are a family of 5, it normally would be to small for us. I was able to use my narrow car seats to get three car seats across (before and after the trip down to Hershey Park). It will work better with two car seats (you can pull down a cool armrest with cupholders and storage if you don’t use the middle seat).
Since we didn’t take the baby, we had plenty of room to take luggage (and no stroller to stash).
I liked the hidden compartment in the truck to store my backpack with my laptop. This was a great feature for when we stopped at rest stops. Even if someone broke into the trunk, they wouldn’t know to pull up the hidden compartment – and I doubt any car thief is going to print out my post and look for this vehicle.
After getting down to Hummlestown, PA (right next to Hershey), we dropped our stuff in our room at the Hilton Garden Inn and went swimming!
After a great dinner at “The Gas Station” Restaurant with DancingHotdogs.com and family, we called it a day. The next morning, we had breakfast with GM and met Suzanne Cody, an aerospace engineer and mom, – one of GM’s Malibu Moms.
The Chevy Test Drive:
We went to Hershey Park and met in the test drive area. While still early, there was a line. I test drove the Chevy Traverse and loved it. It offered 3 rows, so it would fit my family. It was easy to drive and it handled the course well. Then we spent the rest of the day at Hershey and had a blast! Check out my gallery to see the test drive, and Hershey Park! If you’re a Chevy owner, the next Chevy Appreciation day is August 25th (Chevy owners get free admission). We ended up hanging out in the tent a couple of times. With free soda and popcorn, no pressure to buy (but models to check out), video games, Hershey Characters, a magic show (once every hour), free t-shirts and sweet, sweet air conditioning).

My two older kids loved the park (watching the Flume was a big hit), but the best part was the seeing the Transformers Camaro.
Thank you to Momtrends and General Motors for sending my family and I to Hershey Park. We were provided with transportation, a 2 night hotel stay, a gift card for dinner, and one day’s access to Hershey Park. As always, my opinions are my own.
