Looking for some new glasses and/or contact lenses? Discountglasses.com is where I turn! I’ve worn glasses since I was eight years old and contact lenses since I was 14, so I always make sure I have both in hand. DiscountGlasses.com and its sister business DiscountContacts.com makes getting new glasses (and contacts) easier.
My little one has gone through so many pairs of glasses since he started needing them over two years ago. I had worked with Discountglasses.com last year to get him glasses and was so happy with their customer service (they have a warranty!). So when I needed new glasses and contacts, I also turned to Discountglasses.com and their sister contact lens company, discountcontacts.com. I’ll share my experience and tell you my thoughts.
And note: If you can’t get to your eye doctor, you can renew your prescription from home with our FREE Online Vision Test at DiscountGlasses.com!My Experience:
The website is very user-friendly and frankly, after being inside for such a long time during the pandemic, I wanted easy. I loved the selection of frames – all were super cute and you could get so many color and styles. The way it works is you can pick the frames you’re interested in and then do a virtual try on. I was pretty set on blue frames but I was thinking about possible getting clear frames, so I was able to narrow that down to start my search. You also can search by gender for frames and also by price range.
The Try On:
I love that I could “try” on several pairs of glasses (make sure your webcam is enabled). Since my favorite color is blue, I was looking at blue pairs and bookmarking my favorites. I usually go for a square frame. But then I saw a cute pair of Kendall & Kylie Tortoiseshell glasses in the “Jane” style and just fell in love. All thoughts of a blue frame just flew out of my head.
Ordering:
Ordering is really easy. After you narrow down what pair you like (pay attention to size of glasses) I selected the pair I decided on.
Then select your lens option. If you don’t know, upload your prescription first. You can select single vision or progressive lenses.
I wear progressive lenses. Important: Make sure you know the dimensions of the glasses that you choose – you don’t want to end up with glasses that are too big or two small for your face.
And if possible, know your PD (pupillary distance) — this “measurement—which is the distance between the pupils of your eyes—is needed to correctly center the lenses within the frame. Although your PD is often measured by your eye doctor during your exam, PD measurements are not always listed on your prescription—but, no worries, it’s easy enough to obtain using a ruler and a mirror.” (source: Discountglasses.com)
I chose to get thin and light progressive lenses, anti-reflective coating (A great choice for driving and reducing glare at night), and transitions lens (turn into sunglasses) in the grey color. If you’re not happy, Discountglasses.com offers free returns.
My glasses arrived around a week later and I was in love!
I also got my year’s supply of contacts from their sister site, Discountcontacts.com. I was able to order the brand I usually use and I had my contacts in my hands so quickly.
