The COVID pandemic has forced us to be creative about our entertainment options. Before COVID, during the cold winter months, we’d find ourselves spending more time at arcades and other indoor venues, but we now have to improvise and figure out ways to have fun at home, with only our immediate family. Keeping my energetic eleven and eight-year-old boys occupied is especially challenging. I recently came across Laser X Revolution: a laser tag game that enables you to have a mini laser tag arena at home! Laser X Revolution: Your Own Laser Tag Arena
What’s Included:
I received a sample for review and we set it up right away. It was easy: we put in six AAA batteries and my kids figured out how to play after looking at the simple instructions: you put on a chest receiver using the strap and then you select your team color on the receiver: red, blue or red/blue. Next, you turn the color change dial to choose one of the 20 colors.
Beginning the Game:
You begin the game by reloading (which gives you ten blasts) and you keep “hitting” the other player with the laser, which is actually not a real laser, it just looks real. My kids kept tagging each other with their laser blasters and didn’t want to put them down even after playing for a while.
In the game, after you get eight hits you are out and have to start a new game, so you have to turn off the chest receiver and turn it back on for a new game. There’s also a tiny button you can press if you want to hear “coaching”.
Without the “coaching” it’s actually a relatively quiet game and I loved how the laser blasters are not super bulky and can easily fit into a toy bin for storage. Keep in mind that it helps to keep the sunlight away to be able to see the lights better.
Where to Buy:
Laser X Revolution can be purchased at Target and at getlaserx.com. Price is $39.99. For ages six and up.
