I have always toyed with doing a CSA share never really did it. Closest I got was ordering a box from a local supermarket once and I wasn’t that impressed. Sorbello Farms CSA recently reached out to me to see if I wanted to try one of their boxes and I can’t wait to share what I found out. And did you know that 10% of their proceeds go to charity? This year they are supporting Veterans Farm.
I came home this past Friday after noon to a large box. As I opened the box my mouth fell open. There was a ton of veggies and fruits and everything arrive perfectly. I couldn’t believe it!
What Came in My Box
There was a huge califlower! Avocados, large tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, an English Cucumber, a green pepper, a red pepper, an orange pepper, broccoli, 4 yams, a yellow onion, a white sweet onion, mushrooms, a giantic head of garlic, red leaf lettuce, radicchio, red grapes, pears, and green apples. I was thrilled. Everything was super fresh and absolutely flawless.
What I Used My Box For:
I made garlic shrimp and roasted sheet pan veggies, veggie omelettes, Cauliflower au Gratin, and broccoli with melted cheese — so far.
I could absolutely see ordering more from American Farmers and I think you should too! I couldn’t believe that everything in my 18 pound produce box was absolutely perfect!
Customers can get a box weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Each week, their head farmer, who is a 3rd generation farmer picks what will be in the box. He is responsible for sourcing the produce from other American Farmers. They ship nationwide. At $40 for this packed box, we declare this a winner.
