My boys love putting together puzzles of all kinds and I like challenging them with really cool puzzles that can make their experience more meomrable. I recently came across a unique 3D puzzle that also doubles as a piggy bank. The puzzle is a model that you build with spare change – perfect for teaching kids about the different coins!
The 3D Coin Art puzzle comes in the shape of an American flag. Putting it together is easy: simply get all of your spare change together (or as much as you have on hand) and start inserting it in the correct slots. Pennies are used to form red stripes; nickels form white stripes; dimes create the stars in the flag.
The United States flag puzzle is recommended for kids ages 8 and up. It not only teaches about the different coins; it also serves as a sort of a piggy bank and can be used to teach kids about saving money. For example, you can decide that once the puzzle is filled up you can have your child buy something special that she really wants or, alternatively, donate the money to her favorite charity. The innovative coin tray design can also help kids improve their fine motor skills. The puzzle holds 778 coins that add up to a total of $25. The set comes with a coin tray and lid, a stand, two coin counters, two brackets, three stickers and and instruction sheet.
