My three-year-old is incredibly scared of dogs, no matter the size or the dog’s demeanor. As soon as he sees one nearby he rushes over and clings to me. Trying to get him to realize that dogs can be friendly, I came across a game called Magnutto Make A Mood, which is a unique activity set that can help kids recognize moods and expressions.
The Magnutto Make A Mood has three activity sets: Make A Pet, Make A Dino or Make A Mood (which has human faces). I received the Make A Pet set for review. It comes with a storage box that turns into an easle and 100 different magnets of various sizes. The magnets are of dogs’ and cats’ faces and also include paws and eyes plus muzzles/snouts. Developmental experts recommend the toy for kids ages 5 and up but my son, at 3-and-a-half, really likes it!
My son immediately started playing with the toy and creating all types of faces on the animals. The toy includes some accessories such as bones and balls so you can make a little story and also includes some leading questions about moods and a list of various moods. I used some of the facial pieces to see if I can get my son to guess the mood of the pets and we had fun trying out the different pieces and making our own faces to match.
I was not compensated for this post. I received a sample.
