Now that fall is coming to and end and the temperature is dropping each day, I’ve been bundling up my kids in the morning and spending my weekends looking for fun indoor activities for those days when it’s too cold to be outside. The Stepping Stones Children Museum in Norwalk, CT is a little piece of heaven for kids, filled with hands-on exhibits that can stimulate the mind and bring lots of giggles! I recently visited the museum with my kids – here’s a recap of our day:
My kids loved the opportunity to “drive” in a car just like Mommy & Daddy:
In this contraption you put in the ball and watch it go up thru tube. Some balls went down into tube, some fell into water. Eventually all the balls that went into the tube came up, much to my kids’ delight. They spent a long time mesmerized at this, trying to follow the balls.
The had fun getting creative and making crafts with various scraps and materials:
In this interactive contraption you can control some things in an obstacle course for a ball.
The wheel of emotions:
All three had fun sticking in the pegs to make different color lights. The older ones tried to create patterns.
One of the highlights of the day: bowling with penguins as pins!
My three-year-old tried to keep up with his older sibling.
Stepping Stones museum is at 303 West Ave., Norwalk, CT
Admission is $15 per person; free for kids under 1. Parking is free.

We LOVED going here in CT especially during the winter so my boys could exert energy. We had a membership too. Luckily there is a children’s museum in Naples too.
