Last week we made our way to one of our favorite places, the Bronx Zoo. Today, we had a mission – visiting the newly reopened Children’s Zoo.
It was a beautiful day and the zoo was packed when we got there. I have been waiting to see the Children’s Zoo and was so excited to show it to my children.
One of our favorite parts was the Prairie Dogs, because the kids got to actually pop up into the clear tubes and see the prairie dogs up close and personal (see more in my video at the bottom).
My daughter loved climbing up into the “spider web”.
I really loved how print- rich the signs were in the Children’s Zoo were. My youngest son is almost 5 and starting to read some words, so having pictures and text explaining about the animals was terrific. He loved the spider in the sign below.
The Petting Zoo area was also excellent. My children got a kick out of sitting right next to roosters and ducks.
Plus, the stationary tractor was a big hit with the littles.
And who could resist the cute donkeys!
