High atop the Atlas Mountains in the southwest region of Morocco grows the Argan tree. The Berbers, an indigenous people who live in the mountains and have been cultivating the Argan tree for years, have discovered its unique, healing properties and now the rest of the world has come to learn about this tree and its product: Argan Oil. Argan oil is derived from the kernels inside the fruit of the tree. The oil contains high amounts of vitamin E and fatty acids and has been known to help with skin issues such as aging, scar tissue, burns and dry skin. It is also known to help with hair loss and restore shine and softness. (Read more after the jump)
Suave has recently launched a new line of products that are infused with Moroccan Argan Oil. Here are the products and their suggested retail price:
Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shine Shampoo ($2.74-$2.87)
Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shine Conditioner ($2.74-$2.87)
The shampoo and conditioner work together to cleanse, add shine and condition hair.
There is also a Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner system for the same price that is made specifically for colored hair and keeps the hair color vibrant.
Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Deep Conditioning Shine Mask ($2.74-$2.87)
This hair mask provides deep conditioning and is used along with the shampoo, instead of the conditioner.
Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil ($5.98)
This ultra-light formula provides shine and conditioning without weighing hair down.
I recently received the styling oil, shine mask and regular shampoo and conditioner for review. Since I couldn’t try both the conditioner and the shine mask at the same time, I decided to forgo the conditioner and just try the shampoo and mask and to try the styling oil after the shower. It says on the bottle of the shine mask to leave it on for 3-5 minutes but since my hair is very dry I left it on for 10 minutes. I know not everyone has the time to leave it on that long in the shower but the results were so good, I think using it once a week is enough! My hair was so soft to the touch, it felt like silk. I couldn’t believe it got so soft after just one wash! Another thing the instructions tell you to do is comb your hair with your hands after applying the shine mask. I used a comb to spread the cream all over evenly and I think it helped. After the shower I towel-dried my hair and when it was almost completely dry I applied the Styling oil. While it didn’t eliminate the frizz, it did make my already-soft hair even softer and really shiny. And I loved that it didn’t feel greasy or heavy.
You can purchase the Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion line at mass retailers and select drugstores and supermarkets and also at Amazon.
I was not compensated for this post. I received samples.
