We checked out Disney on Ice’s Treasure Trove recently and loved it. If you’ve got young kids that are Disney fans, they’re going to love this production. It’s currently playing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, so I highly recommend booking seats!
We walked in a little before it started and liked that there was a pre show called “Stretching with the Incredibles”. It set the tone for the show, with all the small ones going nuts and dancing in their seats. (Read More after the jump). 
Then, the performance started with Mickey & friends making an appearance. They talked about treasure and set the stage for the rest of the show.
The first vignette was Alice in Wonderland. Alice appeared to Keisha’s Tick Tock and the kids went wild! The next set of characters were from Peter Pan.
Since the launch of Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Captain Hook has become a lot more familiar to the little ones, so my kids were excited to see him and the big bellied Mr. Snee. My children were pretty much mesmerized by the whole show!
After the short intermission, the Lion King was showcased yet. They performed a good deal of the story, with the father’s death (it was a little scary, but done tastefully — and most kids will be able to handle it), “Hakuna Matatata” (which was a lot of fun to see), “Can You Feel the Love” and “Circle of Life”. Next up was Snow White, the essential parts of the story were shown (ie. the dwarves, Snow White eating the apple, going to sleep, and the prince waking her up. You may need to tell kids that Snow White is only sleeping when she is lying in the glass coffin, some kids may be a little scared, unless they’re familiar with the story.
A few scenes from Aladdin were shown next – I liked how they did the magic carpet. But Tthe best number of the night was next, which was “Under The Sea” from The Little Mermaid. It was amazing with all the lighting effects; you really felt like you were under the sea.
The story of Tangled was next (told very quickly with one song about the Lanterns and then right before the finale was a song from “The Princess and the Frog). The last number of the evening was “Someday My Prince Will Come”, with all the Disney Princesses coming out, like Cinderella, Aurora, Mulan, Belle (who weren’t featured in the show), along with Jasmine, Tiana, Snow White, Ariel, and Rapunzel.
All in all, we really enjoyed Treasure Trove. With kids tickets costing $15, the price is pretty reasonable.
THOUGHTS: Even jaded 7 year olds (like my oldest son) ended up having a wonderful time. While the show seemed a little more aimed at girls, the boys I saw seemed to have a great time. My 2.5 year old had a harder time sitting. He was interested, but the show went on about an hour too long for him. However, I had plenty of snacks to keep him happy. 
MY TIPS:
Let your daughters wear their princess costumes, bring your own snacks and party favors. While the show price was reasonable (with $15 tickets for the kids); we felt the snacks weren’t healthy and were expensive. I also felt the souvenirs were overpriced. You may want to limit your kids to buying just one (or pick up some inexpensive ones at the dollar store).
