I am far from organized, and as a matter of fact, I find my lack of organization to be my own special brand of order. Even if that order serves me it doesn’t suit the eye very well. That is why when I got the opportunity to attend the press event for The Container Store opening at the new Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City, NY. I realized it’s time for me to get organized because that great store had so many wonderful items to help me do it! (Read More after the Jump).
It was great previewing the store with only about a dozen or so bloggers. We had the store to ourselves, and lucky for me the registers weren’t open yet because I think I would’ve bought out the store. It was a HUGE space and organized so well that one could easily find exactly what they are looking for. As a matter of fact, you could also find many things you didn’t even know you needed! And once I saw those things I wondered how I have ever lived without them!
One thing I loved about The Container Store is that they have always stuck to their theme of home organization and storage. They take pride in the fact that they leave the “Beyond” to other stores, and their employees provide the expertise that their customers need. Each store employee goes through hours upon hours of training so that they can answer any and all questions that a person may have. Their closet organizing design is to die for. The moment I saw the closet displays I knew that I someday needed to have that done to my closets.
This Long Island Container Store marks the first one of it’s kind here on the Island, and after 10 years of searching for the perfect location, they finally found one in Garden City. So take some time and stop on by. You won’t be sorry! I promise you will find so many items that you never even knew existed to make your home a more organized space.
This weekend is The Container Store’s grand opening! 10% of proceeds from this weekend’s sale is being donated to The Women’s Fund of Long Island. The Grand opening weekend is also offering many activities and prizes! Prizes will be given away every hour on the hour, including a $1000 Elfa space make over on both days. In addition, customers who spend $100 at the Garden City store will between August 11-26th will receive a $15 gift card to use between September 1 – 23rd.
