Ever since my daughter became a pescatarian, things have changed food-wise around my house. While I still pretty much cook the same foods I always did, I always have to make sure I have either a pescatarian or vegetarian option for her main entree so I know she has protein. I always keep veggie burgers in my freezer so at least I can give her that, but sometimes it’s great to be able to make something fish-based for her. The other night I came home from an appointment to find that my husband was sick of just making her a veggie burger and whipped up a three ingredient tuna burger for her. She loved it! So I asked him to make it again for all of us. You’ll only need 3 ingredients to make this tuna burger: tuna, an egg, and breadcrumbs. If you are gluten-free, simply substitute a gluten-free breadcrumb. We topped it with tomato and a homemade sweet and sour sauce (also with three ingredients). You’ll need:
For the Tuna Burgers:
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
3 cans tuna
Almost done!
And then done!
Mix all ingredients together, form into 3 tuna burger patties. Cook in a hot skillet with a little olive oil until hot and slightly browned. Plate on a bun, top with tomato and the sweet and sour sauce. Makes 3 tuna burger patties.
Sweet and Sour Sauce:
3 tablespoon of ketchup
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
1 drop of honey
Then make your sauce. which will take you about a minute to do. Don’t want sauce, ketchup or a russian dressing will work just as well!
Mix everything together and put a dollup on each tuna burger. I also served this with a tomato slice and some coleslaw. So yummy and my pescatarian daughter was thrilled!

This burger was so good! I made one patty by just adding the two other ingredients until it was patty like. It was excellent in a burger, probably not so good without the avocado, cheese, chutney etc.

I am a big fan of tuna/salmon burgers/cakes ….. I like to see the different way and things people add to them. Sometimes I add pepper strips in mine and also dill weed.

This looks so yummy. I love tuna but I am the only one in my household. More for me! I only need to get some breadcrumbs and I am good to go.
