Imagine being seven months pregnant and being stranded by the side of the road when your car breaks down. Yep, this epic fail happened to me. I was pregnant with my first child in 2005 when this happened. My husband and I were on the way to my OB appointment and I was due for a routine sonogram. I was working full time as a teacher back then and didn’t have access to our car until my husband got home from his job. We set out for our appointment around 5:30 PM and the car started smoking around 20 minutes into our drive. It was really scary… Luckily, we were able to pull off the highway and stop in a safe place, which was in an area we knew. We had to call a tow truck and had to wait a long time for it to show up. We got it towed to our local garage AND we missed our OB appointment. Such a disaster!
Being pregnant was tough enough, as I had morning sickness well into my seventh month and then my blood pressure kept rising and rising. Getting upset about our breaking down wasn’t helping either. There were no smart phones back then in 2005, but if there had been, I would have tapped on the Allstate Good Hands Rescue® service app as a way to save myself from that total epic fail and would have had a tow truck right next to our car door quickly.
If you remember, I’ve spoken about the Allstate Good Hands Rescue® service before.
