When I buy snacks and foods for my family, I look for healthy ingredients. I want to make sure that I give my kids food that aren’t filled with junk – I want real ingredients, no high fructose corn syrup, no GMOs, and light on trans and saturated fats. I am a label reader and sometimes I make myself crazy trying to figure out what’s in the food I purchase. I am really thrilled to partner up with Junkless Foods because I feel that this is a brand that should be on YOUR radar. I want to tell you about their line of Chewy Granola Bars — because their delicious bars are minimally processed, contain no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, no hydrogenated oils, no high fructose corn syrup, zero grams trans fats and are Non-GMO Project verified. My kids can’t get enough of them and it’s the perfect snack for school and camp.
My children and I have tried a lot of granola bars and sometimes they can frankly taste like sawdust. Know what I mean? Junkless Granola Bars are moist and chewy — and my kids and I really enjoy them. I usually keep one in my purse also – mama gets hangry sometimes! These healthy bars are very family friendly and have a good texture and tasty flavor.
Junkless Granola Bars are made with less than eight basic ingredients commonly found in a kitchen pantry or local grocery store. Here are some of the ingredients you’ll find in their granola bars: wheat flour, whole oats, rice crisps, dark chocolate chips, roasted peanuts, canola oil and vanilla extract.
There are four flavors:
- Chocolate Chip
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip,
- Strawberry (yes, made with 100% REAL Strawberries)
- Cinnamon Roll
All are 130 calories, with 5 or 6 grams of sugars per bar.
This is cool – Founder (and dad) Ernie Pang, who used to work at Kellogg’s, came up with the idea after he and his son were grocery shopping and his son Michael asked about the lengthy and hard-to-pronounce ingredients on the side panel of a frozen fried chicken dinner. Ernie thought there had to be a better and less complicated way. I spoke to Ernie on the phone and was really impressed with his focus and mission. This is a company that we, at The Mama Maven Blog, love to support
They recently became available at select ShopRite Stores throughout the New York Tri-State Area (including Long Island). They are also available in supermarkets around the country, as well as Amazon.com (buy here).
What’s our favorite? I LOVE the chocolate chip, but my kids prefer the peanut butter chocolate chip.
